Publishing Update & Cover of the Month!

I’m back with a quick update about how things went on publication day and a quick call to action to help me with my marketing efforts!

For those who have been following my progress, you’ll know I released my debut novel, In The End, on 30th November.

So how did things go?

If I had to sum it up in one word, that word would be…AMAZING. I spent the day on social media and my blog connecting with some fantastic people as they wished me all the best and some of them also bought the book. Including the pre-orders of 30 ebooks, my current sales stand at 44 units. That includes ebooks and shipped paperbacks. The figure may be higher if physical orders are still being printed. In addition to those figures, people are using the Kindle Unlimited and Kindle Owners Lending Library (KOLL) to read the book, the stats show over 800 pages have been read so far under the Kindle Select programme! If these services don’t make any sense, please check out my last publishing update to get the low down.

I’m over the moon with these figures, plus I know people are reading and enjoying the book. My sister in law was looking after my children yesterday whilst my wife and I celebrated the launch in London and by the time we’d returned home she’d read a quarter of the novel and gave me some great feedback. I told her to take the book with her and I wouldn’t let her give me any money for it, instead asking that she spread the word.

In other news, marketing efforts continue whilst I wait for a body of reviews to be left and fellow bloggers to complete posts about the novel. As promised in my pre-release plan, I entered the cover into the AllAuthor cover competition for December. There’s another 204 covers in the competition and so far, based on my continued nagging of friends and family, I’m in twenty first position. It would help me out if you could all pop along to the site and place a vote on my cover. You don’t have to register. Each round lasts 6 days, with the lowest ranked covers getting knocked out at each stage, then voting reopens to allow people to vote again. The winner is announced at the end of the month. The prize for winning is fairly minimal, but for me it’s all about getting the exposure. So if you can take a moment to click on the link below and vote, I would be very grateful!

That’s it for me for now, but I’ll be back tomorrow with another interesting interview.
