MY PUBLISHING JOURNEY – SHAME

WORK IN PROGRESS

I’ve finally finished running through THEIR RIGHT TO VENGEANCE with ProWritingAid and I’ve cut out 5,000 words which is 5% of the manuscript. I’m now doing the final read through and I’m 10% of the way through. I’m on leave from tomorrow for two weeks and, although I’ll be very busy having fun with the family, I hope to get a good chunk of it finished.

EVENTS

Saturday I was in Abingdon and it was a great event even though the footfall was half they normal get due to the rain. I made a profit of over £60 and could well imagine that being significantly higher if the footfall was normal. Unfortunately they’re not running the event next year.

I managed to sell loads IN THE END, including three of the full series, and loads of copies of FATE’S AMBITION. One a single copy of OPERATION DAWN WOLF went, so it would seem the town is a fan of the unusual!

My next event is Salisbury in a couple of weeks and hopefully the place will be full of tourists!

MARKETING & PROMOTION

This morning I’ve stopped advertising my mailing list and reader magnet as the sign-ups were slowing. I will soon send out some mailers to the new subscribers and see if I can convert them to purchases. I’m not sure whether I might try a new ad campaign in September because if I remember correctly August is never good for sales.

It’s just a quick post this week as I’m in a hurry. I probably won’t post next week as I’m taking some time off but if I might have something interesting I want to share with you, I will.
