EVENTS
Last Saturday was my first event at Lyndhurst and it didn’t disappoint. Despite having some spells of horrendous rain, the tourists, and that’s what this market is about, were still coming in. I ended up only just missing the sales figures I had for Salisbury and sold at least one of every book.
I will definitely look at adding this event to my summer list once we have decided what we’re doing for holidays next year.
There’s no event this week, but next Saturday I’m in Thame, Oxfordshire. It’s an event I’ve had a previous average result and one with similar sales to Salisbury, so I can’t wait!
WORK IN PROGRESS
I’m rushing through writing this post because I’m eager to get to working on the third book in the Fate’s Ambition series. I’m tantalisingly close to finishing the first run through and I’m pleased to have found that the quality has been consistent throughout. My eagerness is not only to see the project progress, but also because I’m enjoying the story too.
I will give it another read through then push it through ProWritingAid before another review. I think this will be ready for editing by the end of October at the latest. It would be great if I can get it done before the edit for book 2 is back!
The new cover for the first book in the series, FATE’S AMBITION, is a little delayed but at least the company contacted me and let me know, they even asked me if it was okay. I’m very excited to see what they have come up with!
MARKETING & PROMOTION
Sales have been underwhelming with the new campaign, but I decided to hold my will to see if they built up. I’m pleased to say that they have, mainly with page reads, but the sales are also trickling in. Let’s see how well it continues.
I’ve chased up all of the people who have promised to read my publishing book in exchange for a review and that has resulted in a four star review and renewed promises to finish reading it. I need to find more people to give it away to review, so if you’re interested just let me know in the comments and I’ll be in touch.
That’s it for this week. Next week I will hopefully have seen the first draft of the new cover and will start the back and forth with the designer.
