WORK IN PROGRESS

The paperback for THEIR RIGHT TO VENGEANCE is now set up for release alongside the Kindle book on 3rd November, despite a bit of a hiccup. I ordered a proof, and it looked great, but I realised the designer hadn’t included the blurb on the back of the jacket. I went back to them and they sorted it within a day. I’m very surprised I missed that when I took delivery of the files.

With the paperback setup and a few other proofing issues sorted on the inside, I ordered ten author copies ready for my events and they’ve already arrived meaning I’ll have them for Hungerford this Saturday. Now I’m going to have to reorganise my table!

Book three is progressing well and I think I’m over two thirds through the review with ProWritingAid. It would be great to get it off to the editor by the end of the month, but I think that’s probably a bit tight.

This all means that once again I needed to decide what to write next.

My heart says Stopping Power Season 2 as I have the spark of what I think will be a great idea. Commercially this would excellent as it will both increase interest in the first series and I think it will sell well.

My head says to start work on the space comedy time travel short story. This is something I’m interested in trying out, both to expand my writing skills, and because if I come up with a good product and expand it into a novel, it’s another genre I can sell at my events.

Also in the back of my mind I know that my 75% complete weather apocalypse thriller is waiting to be worked on and, if I don’t get it finished, it’s been a waste of 18 months.

Right now, I think the order will probably be 1) Space time travel comedy 2) Stopping Power Two 3) Weather apocalypse.

I will push all other thoughts of Carrie Harris shorts / novels I want to write, out of my head…

If only it were that easy. If only I had more time to write!

MARKETING & PROMOTION

It’s been two weeks, or thereabouts since I restarted Facebook ads and this is where we’re at. It has cost me £55 in advertising and I have made roughly £100 from the applicable books. That is success by most people’s measure!

Pre-orders for THEIR RIGHT TO VENGEANCE are still in single figures but I hadn’t thought I would get many anyway. Sales of FATE’S AMBITION at it’s new low price have been okay, getting new sales each time I do some form of posting. There are still two weeks to go until the release, so I hope to push the pre-orders up to double figures by then.
