MY PUBLISHING JOURNEY – EMBELLISH

WORK IN PROGRESS

LOST AMONGST THE STARS is progressing well with the first draft of part two closing in on the word count of part one. I’m loving continuing the story but I’m still in the race to get the basic paragraph and plot structure on the page, knowing that I’m leaving behind plenty of work to pick up later. I’m currently at the stage where I want to finish the story in the next five thousand words or so as I wanted it to be a smaller book then normal, however I can feel it heading the other way. My next round of drafting might have to be brutal.

MARKETING & PROMOTION

I’ve turned off the Amazon ads again having considered this latest attempt a bit of a failure. I’m now looking at other options but for the moment I’m going to let my credit card take a rest. My sales have dropped accordingly back to barely registering.

That said, I am still getting occasional batches of page reads and sales following the recent publicity of the James Fisher series.

I’ve not being doing too much else this week as I’ve been concentrating on the writing. However in my downtime I’ve decided that I’m going to pay a bit more attention to formatting of LOST AMONGST THE STARS when it’s ready. This could include adding embellishments to the paperback. I know that’s a pretty vague statement, but I’ll let you know some more details when it gets closer to realisation.

EVENTS

My first event of the year is only two weeks away and I can’t wait to have the three complete series on the table and to use my new banner! I’ll be back in Witney, Oxfordshire, which coincidentally was the last event of 2023.

That’s it for this update and I’ll be back next week to let you know all the exciting things that happened!
