WORK IN PROGRESS
The audio for LOST AMONGST THE STARS is submitted and it’s been with ACX for four days now! Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before it’s out in the world.
I’ve enjoyed working with the narrator, Samuel James, so much that I asked him to consider a royalty share for the FATE’S AMBITION series which has been at the back of my mind to produce. He’s come back to say that he couldn’t stretch to doing it for no upfront cost but could do it for a third of what he charged me per hour for LOST AMONGST THE STARS. I think that’s a good deal and will likely cost me about half what I thought I’d have to pay to get the series produced. It’s something I’m seriously considering and then once done I can make a serious go of pushing the series online.
The writing of the second in the Parrallel World series is progressing, I’ve just finished re-writing a scene covering three long chapters as it didn’t have the punch I wanted. As well as improving those chapters, it’s enabled me to add in some more aspects I hadn’t thought of.
EVENTS
It’s a busy weekend coming up. On Saturday I have an event at Marlborough. This is another event which will probably be my last as I have traditionally not done great there. I haven’t booked for 2025. Like Godalming, I will have low expectations, but hope to be pleasantly surprised. I have a high motivation to sell a lot of books there because the more I sell the less I have to manhandle up a steep hill to my car afterwards.
On the Sunday we take our middle child off to Southampton for her first year at university, having delivered our first born to Nottingham on the Saturday just gone (despite recovering from a short but horrid fever and the start of a cold.) We’ll still have our youngest in the house, but with him self-confining to his room apart from when there is a hint of food, it’s going to be a quiet house.
CHANGE
Since I started this journey with the build up to publishing my first book, I’ve blogged all about it every week, but now, having written and published over thirteen novels and stories I feel I have less to say that is new and interesting. There’s no getting away from the fact that my posts are repetitive and perhaps boring. I’ve therefore decided to move to post less frequently and that means I will post once a month at the end of each month and then perhaps when I have some news. My next post will be in a couple of weeks.
Stay safe and happy reading.
