PERSONAL UPDATE
Today we have the second and final temporary repair on our storm damaged roof, and soon I’ll find out how much it’s going to cost to have the whole think replaced. I’m going to need to sell a lot of books to cover that!
There will be a little disruption to the coming week. I get to see the wider family, but it’s not a happy occasion. Hopefully that closes off the short run of bad news.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom, I had an amazing weekend with my wife for her birthday and hopefully the weather will start to brighten.
WORK IN PROGRESS
Scarlet Rain Series – Book 1 – There’s been good progress this week. I’m a third of the way through this revision run and it’s fallen below 99k words. I should be able to get it down to 90 to 95k by the end.
Life’s A Beach – Working Title – Carrie Harris Short – This is off with the editor. I don’t know when it will be back but I’m in no hurry. I need to work on the title, short blurb and the cover.
Carrie Harris Zombie Crossover Short – I’m still on the same editing pass as last week but it’s coming together. Three more days and I’ll be on to the next run. I’ll hopefully get some time on this at the weekend too.
MARKETING AND PROMOTION
Sales are okay, but I won’t look at them in detail until the weekend when I’ll total up the month, although I have a good idea already. Still only advertising via mailing list swaps.
EVENTS
There are only two more weekends to go before my first event of the season. It’s in Salisbury, somewhere I have never been. I’m very excited and perhaps I will start getting things organised this weekend.
That’s it for this quick roundup. Catch you on the next post. Comments and suggestions welcomed as always.
Sorry to hear your roof was damaged in the storms. We lost three fence panels but thankfully they’ve been repaired. I hope it doesn’t cost too much.
Good luck for Salisbury, fingers crossed you find lots of willing readers!
