WORK IN PROGRESS

LOST AMONGST THE STARS Part 1 is now with around 10 alpha readers selected from my Facebook groups, my mailing list and one long standing pre-reader. I’m yet to have any feedback so far, but it’s been less than a week.

Almost as soon as I sent out the alpha copies on Sunday I started work on STOPPING POWER Season 2. After a couple of hours I managed to come up with the opening scene and then what has become the opening two chapters. I have a loose plot and the mechanism of how the book will progress and I’ll again write it in the style of episodes, but I’m yet to decide if I will release them individually. I know at least that episode one will concentrate on building the world and setting the scene and tone, with Agent Carrie Harris acting totally out of character! I’m hoping to use each chapter to hint at what might be happening and then reveal all at the end of the episode, of course ending on a significant cliffhanger.

So far I have around 5,000 words down and the episode will be somewhere between six and ten thousand. I’m very much enjoying the process and it’s great to be writing Carrie again!

Once I’ve completed the first episode, I plan to step back into the sci-fi world of LOST AMONGST THE STARS to start the second half, assuming I get positive feedback from the alpha readers. I think I will produce part one as privately printed book for selling at my craft fair events.

MARKETING & PROMOTION

I’ve turned off some of my advertising campaigns in order to test which ones are giving me the best sales, all because the advertising console is not correctly attributing the sales to the campaigns. Sales are coming in, but they have slowed since making the changes. I ended up swapping the campaigns again quite quickly and hope I get a clear winner.

This weekend I will be doing a review of the ads and settings, but based on the amount of money I’m spending, and the return I’m getting, if I can’t make appropriate changes, I will have to stop advertising on Amazon.
