Personal Update
Everything is going well on a personnel level. We’re still working from home but there are signs that our eleven year old might get back to school for two days a week, plus I might get to go to the office at some point, although we will be working mostly from home for the foreseeable future. Right now I’m very much looking forward to the sunny bank holiday weekend!
Work in Progress
With today being the second of two days off work, I’ve just completed the major edit of AFTER THE END!! There’s still plenty of work to do before I send it off to be beta read including checking it through ProWritingAid and then doing a full read-through. I hope to make a major dent during the rest of today.
I’ve had some initial thoughts of a cover design so I’m searching for stock photography to use as a base and then I’ll get it sent over to my designer for him to take a look.
Having just edited the last chapter moments before writing this post, it feels weird to think that the IN THE END story is coming to an end, at least in its current form. I have no plans to write more about the characters in these three books, but I do think there is plenty more to tell about what happens in the same world. After the novella, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens!
Sales & Marketing
Sales continue to be strong on the back of Facebook advertising. May is currently running at around 75% profit above the ad cost, so there are no plans to change the campaign for now. May’s sales are still set to break my current records.
This week I passed a 1,000 likes on my Facebook page. A lot of these came from people either liking my page independently or accepting an invite once they had interacted with my advert. As I advertise more and my reach grows I see more independent signing up to my social and mailing list without having to ask, which is a great feeling.
Release Schedule
It’s two weeks or thereabouts until LESSON LEARNED is released on 5th June. I’ve ordered the paperback copies and I’ll be sending a newsletter to my mailing list to say hello and remind them that I’ll be releasing in two weeks and give them an update on the work in progress, probably today.

I do have other very exciting news, but I’m afraid I can’t tell you anything about it. Hopefully in June I will be able to release some information and I can share my excitement with you!
That’s it for now. Comments and questions welcomed as always.
Hi GJ,
But you got a lot done! Congrats on 1,000 likes. It’s moving forward. I am letting go of doing certain extra creative things so I can get more book work done. There are ends to seasons, like you said, an moving into another.
Have a great one,
Gary
