Wow it’s been a busy week.
I finished my publishing book last Friday and it’s been with my editor for about a week. I’m it expecting it back in about a month which means it’s time to let you all know the title!
‘YOUR BOOK WON’T SELL ITSELF – An introduction to writing, publishing and selling your books.’
Let’s call it YBWSI. Or maybe not. I anticipate having the book in production for the start of May, all things being equal. Feel free to let me know what you think of the title.
I’ve also produced the concept for the cover and I’m really pleased I decided against paying £400+ for it. It only took me 30 minutes to come up with the concept then two hours fiddling to find the right font. I’ll reveal the cover in the next few weeks.
I’ve now started editing THEIR RIGHT TO VENGEANCE, although I might have to change the title because I can’t seem to get the knack of spelling vengeance! It’s the second in the James Fisher series which currently spans a little over 100,000 words. I have to admit that when I started it was quite a daunting task but I’m already 10% of the way through and I’d estimate its current status at about a second draft level. There’s lots to do but I’m enjoying rediscovering the story.
I’ve also done a bit more work on the new Carrie Harris story, and it’s developing well.
I’ve reviewed the proof for the STOPPING POWER Season One complete paperback and made a few formatting changes before ordering another proof which came very quickly and was perfect. I’ve made an impatient decision to release it as a paperback right away rather than waiting until I’ve sold the rest of my A6 paperbacks. That’s how I roll. Hopefully by the time this post releases the paperback edition will be out and I can order author copies for my events.
I’ve now released the cover with an exclusive first look to the Written Undead and you can now take a look too! I hope you like! When I get time to complete the format of the Kindle book, I’ll release that as well.

I’ve ordered 500 copies of the A6 version of the first episode, updated to reflect the combined volume as the next step to reading the books. They should be with me next week, plus I’ve found a cheaper supplier for paper carrier bags for my events and I took delivery of 500. Along with the 5,000 bookmarks I’ve just received, I need to find some space in my house.
This month it’s been a year since I met the film and TV agent who was interested in getting OPERATION DAWN WOLF adapted to screen. I received an update this week to say that although it’s taking a very a long time, they are still working on my behalf to get interest.
This week is my second event of the year, back in Henley. It’s a nice venue and not too far from home, if the bad weather holds off then I’m hoping for some success. Let’s wait and see.
That’s more than enough for this week. Back next week and perhaps I might show off the new cover for YOUR BOOK WON’T SELL ITSELF. Comments and suggestions welcomed as always.
